Internet Download Manager

Internet download Manager is the download manager choosen by the majority of users. This is mainly due to the fact that it is the download manager with most features and that it's download accelerator that can really increase download speed by up to 5 times the normal download speed.

  It is compatible with HTTP, FTP, HTTPS and MMS protocols, as well as proxy and ftp servers, and it works with all the popular Internet browsers, be it Internet Explorer or Opera, and including Firefox, Safari and Google Chrome.

  Internet download Manager's (IDM) managing capacity is increadible. Besides obviously allowing to resume downloads we have had to stop, it allows a whole array of special orders that are absolutely amazing, you can for example tell it to dial a modem number, then download the indicated file, hang up and even turn the computer off.

  It also lets us download FLV videos embedded in websites like YouTube, avoiding having to install a specific application for that task.

  Internet download Manager's acceleration technology has still to be copied successfuly by any of it's competitors, it uses dynamic file segmentation to increase the download speed, and then reuses available connections to accelerate the download.

  The main download manager is still the king of the castle. The only snag is that all good things cost money, and the trial period only last 25 days.
